Getting Ready for the Conference!

Our PR Advanced Planning Committee has been working really hard to get ready for this Saturday's big day! Over the weekend we gathered together on the top floor of Shelton and reviewed each of our tasks throughout the day. We also put together participant folders.

So get pumped for this Saturday, and spread the word! Make sure you fill out your registration forms!

PR Advanced Registration Deadline Extended!

The PR Advanced Committee is happy to announce that we have extended the registration deadline for this Saturday's Conference. We ask that you turn in all forms by this Wednesday. You can give them to Heather Papsun (heather.papsun@gmail.com) or Jacki Archard (jackiarchard@gmail.com). You can also drop them off in Professor Quigley's office (704 Comm Ave, 4th floor).

This is a great opportunity for you to network with top communication professionals, so don't miss out!

TODAY~ Cupcake Bakesale!

Hey Guys! Don't forget to check out our bakesale that is taking place today - right now, until 3PM at the GSU.
Last night the PRSSA girls worked hard to make you all the most delectable little cupcake delights. Heather, Jacki and Christen made a variety of chocolate, vanilla and even marble cupcakes with a combination of chocolate and vanilla frosting, and Alexandra made her very special Carrot Cake Cupcakes. Those are absolutely fantastic - you must get yours before they are all sold out!

Spring Break in NYC!!!

Spring Break in New York City

New York, New York here we come. Why waste spring break in the Caribbean or Florida when you can join Professor Quigley and a bevy of your classmates on the annual COM tour of New York City PR firms and departments? From Monday March 9- Wednesday March 11 a select group of COM public relations students will have the opportunity to meet our alums working at the world’s best firms and departments.

This year we plan to visit a mix of some of the largest PR firms, a mid size firm, a boutique and two in-house departments. Confirmed stops include Ketchum, Burson-Marsteller, MTV Networks, Showtime, Marina Maher Communication and Cohn & Wolfe. More to come! Presenters at the firms range from AAE’s to senior VP’s (last year Ray Kotcher, CEO of Ketchum spoke to our students.). HR representatives will also be at the present.

Just a reminder that our first PRSSAgency Staff Meeting is tomorrow, right after the PRSSA meeting! Each group will give a quick recap of what they have done this semester so far, and what will be coming in the future. For those of you who want to join agency, or just check it out, this is a great way to do so :)

PRAdvanced Conference

Hi Everyone!

Our PRAdvanced Conference is only 24 days away! Things are coming along great and we hope you will all be able to come!

On that note, PLEASE remember that the cutoff date for the $20.00 reduced registration price is Friday, February 20! If you register later than that, the price jumps to $35.00!

That being said, Jacki Archard will be available at this Thursday's meeting (2/5, 5pm in COM101) and next Thursday's meeting (2/12) to collect money and help fill out registration forms. If you are interested in coming to the conference, please bring your $20 (cash or check made out to Boston University PRSSA) and Jacki will give you a registration form to fill out on the spot - that way, you don't have to worry about passing anything in later or your form/money getting lost in the shuffle.

Remember, our breakout sessions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis! So, the earlier you register for the conference, the more likely you are to get into the breakout session you want.
